Human Remains Located in Montreal

Montreal, MO, 07-14-22 - On 07-13-22, detectives from the Jefferson City Police Department contacted detectives from the Camden County Sheriff's Office with information regarding the possible location of human remains in Camden County.  At approximately 9:30 this morning, detectives and deputies from CCSO, JCPD, and the Missouri State Park Rangers responded to an area in Lake of the Ozarks State Park near McCubbins Point where they located human remains.

The human remains appear to be those of Tanner Elmore, 36, of Montreal who went missing from Camdenton on June 7th.  Due to the advanced decomposition of the remains, positive identification is impossible without further investigation.

Elmore's next of kin has been notified of our findings, however it is important to note that the investigation is still ongoing.  CCSO will continue investigating other leads in Elmore's disappearance pending the results of an autopsy and DNA comparison with known family members.

The Camden County Sheriff's Office would like to thank our partners at the Missouri State Park Rangers, the Jefferson City Police Department, and the Medical Examiners at Southwest Forensics for their assistance in this investigation.
