MSHP SWAT Assists in Apprehending Wanted Fugitive

02/28/2024

Camdenton, MO - 02-28-24 - Tuesday afternoon, 02-27-24, deputies from the Camden County Sheriff's Office, task force officers from the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group, and troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F SWAT Team served an arrest warrant for Nathan G Hammond on a residence on State Road Z in Climax Springs.

Hammond was wanted for failing to appear in court on original charges of Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Class B Misdemeanor 2nd Degree Property Damage. Earlier this month, Hammond ran from troopers and deputies who were attempting to arrest him on his warrants. Hammond made comments to friends that he would shoot and kill any law enforcement officer attempting to arrest him and has been seen in the area carrying weapons and wearing body armor.

Hammond was taken into custody without incident at approximately 2:25 pm. Investigators on the scene then served a search warrant on the residence and seized a 12 gauge shotgun, a 30.06 rifle, ammunition for both, a ballistic vest, and methamphetamines.

Hammond was transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility and booked in on his warrants without bond.

A reminder that these charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
