Drowning Lodge of Four Seasons

On July 24, 2011 at approximately 12:35 PM, Camden County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from the Lodge of Four Seasons reporting that two male subjects had been retrieved from the bottom of the Spa Pool, neither subject was breathing. Paramedics on scene administered CPR to both subjects and were able to revive Victim: Khalid A. Shaltaf 47 of Indiana, Khalid was transported to Lake Regional Hospital and later airlifted to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia where he remains in critical condition.
Paramedics were unfortunately unable to revive Victim: Ali K. Shaltaf 21 of East Chicago Indiana. His body was transported to Springfield Missouri for autopsy. 
Video surveillance shows Ali, a non swimmer, enter into the four foot deep section of the pool at approximately 
12:12 PM.  At 12:13 PM, he walks into the eight foot deep section and submerged. Khalid, also a non swimmer and Ali's father, immediately entered the pool to help Ali, but also submerged in the eight foot deep section. Both subjects struggled to resurface for approximately three minutes before submerging for the last time. Both subjects were submerged for approximately eighteen minutes before being rescued by Lodge staff and guest. 


During the incident no one was in the pool area other than the victims.
