Burglary Arrest (Sunrise Beach)

06/25/2013

On Sunday, June 23 Deputies responded to a residence on Chelsie Drive in Sunrise Beach to the report of a person entering an occupied residence and stealing a laptop computer and then fleeing the scene. The victims were able to identify the suspect and provide a possible location of the suspect in Morgan County.  Morgan County and Camden County Deputies went to the 24000 block of State Route TT and were able to locate the suspect 34 year old Brian Keith Hobbs who was taken into custody without incident. Hobbs was transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility where he was incarcerated. Hobbs has been charged with 1st degree burglary (entering an occupied residence in order to commit a crime), and stealing with a bond set at $2,000.00 cash only. Hobbs was also charged with Contempt of Court as the result of previous case and he is being held without bond on that charge.

Sheriff Franklin thanks Morgan County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in taking Hobb’s into custody. Sheriff Franklin said “team work in law enforcement is vital and this case underlines that idea. As a result of two counties working together we were able to quickly take this suspect into custody.”
