K-9 Xaver Passing

Camden County Sheriff Dwight Franklin is saddened to announce the passing of K-9 Deputy Xaver (pronounced ZaVa) .

Xaver had served the citizens of Camden County since 2004.

Xaver, a European German Shepherd, was obtained through a Homeland Security grant in 2004 and trained in explosives detection.

During his career, Xaver has assisted in several events within Camden County and the Homeland Security Region F.  Xaver was called to duty to assist the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office, ATF, and Secret Service during the 2004 Presidential debates in Jefferson City.  In 2011 he served at Busch Stadium during the St Louis Cardinal’s World Series game, and 2012 he assisted with Presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s visit to the Lake of the Ozarks.
