In the early morning hours of Friday, August 9, 2013 Camden County deputies responded to an address off State Road Y to the report of a possible drowning. Deputies arriving on the scene found an unresponsive male lying near a swimming pool and a female administering CPR.

Deputies took over CPR and continued until paramedics and rescue personnel arrived on scene and assumed care of the victim. The victim was transported to Lake Regional Hospital, however life saving efforts were not successful and the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to witnesses the victim, Michael A Taylor, age 24; of Camdenton had been swimming with a friend in a swimming pool at a private residence. The friend stepped away from the pool and when he returned a short time later he discovered Taylor on the bottom of the pool. The friend removed the unresponsive Taylor from the pool and CPR was started. The Camden County Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and is also investigating the death.
