Camelot Update

The body discovered in Camelot Estates on Sunday, September 15, 2013, has been confirmed as a female. Positive identification will have to be done by DNA analysis as the body was severely decomposed. Samples from the body have been sent to a laboratory in Texas for the extraction of DNA to be compared with known samples.

Investigators believe the body to be that of the woman who rented the home in Camelot.

On the evening of September 17, 2013, detectives from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Eldon Police, Jefferson City Police, and the United States Marshals Service arrested a person of interest on unrelated outstanding warrants. Jamison D Shelton, 30, of no fixed address, was taken into custody without incident at a Jefferson City motel. Shelton is a known associate and recent roommate of the tenant of the Camelot residence.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released when available.
