Arson/Armed Criminal Action Arrest

Camdenton, February 7, 2014:  

The Camden County Investigations Unit, Street Crimes Unit, ATF, and Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office conducted a joint investigation into a conspiracy to commit arson.

Edward Eugene Vaughn 75 of Camdenton was arrested without incident near Camdenton. Vaughn had attempted to hire someone to burn his home in the 100 block of Condo Drive to collect his insurance money. Vaughn was in possession of a firearm when officers made the arrest.

Vaughn has been charged with a Class C Felony of conspiracy to commit arson and Felony of armed criminal action. Bond set at $20,000 cash or $75,000 surety. Vaughn was released after posting bail.
