On March 6, 2014 at approximately 3:30 PM Camden County Sheriff’s Office received a call that two dogs fell through the ice in the 1100 block of Grandview Lane located off State Route Y.

Camden County Animal Control, with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, responded to the area. Upon their arrival one dog had made its way to the shoreline. The other dog was struggling approximately 20 feet from the shoreline. Animal Control Officers assisted the struggling dog by breaking the ice and assisting it from the water. The dog was immediately taken to a local animal hospital for treatment.

The dog’s owner was located and reunited with the animals. The dog taken to the animal hospital is recovering from its exposure.
