Synopsis

           

            At approximately 1600 hours this evening, Thursday, September 4, 2014, members of Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group, in coordination with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Osage Beach Police Department, Camdenton Police Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol concluded a long term narcotics investigation in Camden County, Missouri.

            Over the course of approximately 16 months, overt and covert operatives with the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group and Missouri State Highway Patrol were able to conduct a series of narcotic investigations involving the possession, distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce, possession with intent to distribute, distribution/sales of methamphetamine, heroin, morphine, and Scheduled prescription medications.

            The investigation involved twenty-three loosely affiliated individuals in and around the Camden County, Missouri area.  Warrants for each defendant (multiple counts on many) were obtained through the Camden County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office prior to the mass arrest operation initiated this evening.

            Arrest teams consisted of members of the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, Osage Beach Police Department, Camdenton Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group.

            This operation is active and arrest teams are still seeking to arrest those indicted.

            The success of this investigation was only possible through the cooperative efforts of all agencies involved.

            Individuals arrested in connection with this investigation were transported, processed, and held at the Camden County Jail for bond.

*Lake Area Narcotic Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  The task force specializes in narcotics related investigations and is composed of narcotics officers assigned by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Camden County Sheriff’s Department, and Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.*
