Traffic Stop Narcotics Arrest

03/30/2015

On the evening of March 27, 2015 a Camden County Deputy stopped a motorist south of the Hurricane Deck Bridge, for failure to maintain a single lane. When the suspect’s vehicle pulled over the driver immediately exited the vehicle and ran down the embankment. The deputy pursued the fleeing suspect on foot. While chasing the suspect the deputy was giving verbal commands for the suspect to stop. The deputy verbally advised the suspect multiple times to stop or he would use his Taser. The suspect continued to run from the deputy at which point the deputy deployed his Taser. The suspect stopped after the deployment of the Taser, then returned to his feet and fled again. The deputy continued to pursue the suspect, at which point back up officers arrived and the suspect was taken into custody.
