Over the last few days, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of and has initiated an investigation into allegations of criminal behavior by employees of the Camden County government. We have also been informed that local media has publicly released some documents purportedly supporting those allegations that were provided by Camden County employees.

We are in the preliminary stages of an investigation and, as with any ongoing criminal investigation, we will not comment on or reveal details that may jeopardize the integrity of that investigation.  Investigators are working closely with representatives from the prosecuting attorney's office.  We have not eliminated the possibility of requesting assistance from the investigative division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to avoid any possible conflicts of interest.

The sheriff’s office will release additional information if and when it is appropriate to do so.
