Domestic Dispute Leads to Home Invasion

02/29/2016

Shortly after midnight on the morning of February 29th, 2016, deputies from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office along with troopers from the MSHP, and officers from the Osage Beach Police Department, responded to the 6000 block of Baydy Peak Road in Osage Beach on a reported home invasion.

The female caller originally called 911 to advise someone was trying to break into her house through the front door and then through a window. She then stated the suspect was trying to enter the house from the attached garage. Upon officers’ arrival, the suspect barricaded themselves inside the garage to the home. The caller informed officers on scene she thought the person in the garage was her estranged boyfriend, Travis Dale, and she was afraid he was armed with a shotgun and a knife. She explained they had been involved in a verbal altercation the evening of February 28th.

After approximately one hour of attempting to speak to Dale through the garage door, deputies deployed tear gas into the garage and then took Dale into custody. Deputies did not locate a shotgun, but Dale was in possession of several knives at the time of his arrest.

Thirty-four year old Travis Allen Dale, of Osage Beach, was transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility where he was booked on one outstanding Camden County warrant for violating bond conditions on an original charge of Domestic Assault 3rd degree. Charges for this morning’s incident are pending.
