UPDATE: The accident at Missouri 5 and Bear Paw Road near Camelot Estates has been investigated and the road is now open as of 9:15am. 

There is a major accident at Missouri 5 and Bear Paw Road near Camelot Estates in Camdenton with one confirmed fatality.  Deputies from the Camden County Sheriff's Office and Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol have been on scene since 4:30 this morning.  The MSHP accident reconstruction team is on scene and the road will possibly be shut down for several more hours.  All drivers are advised to use extreme caution and obey all traffic direction from law enforcement officers on scene.  If possible, seek a different route to your destination.
