Personnel in this position are responsible for receiving, evaluating, and disseminating calls for county, police, fire and emergency medical service through the Communications Unit. A communications officer is often the first line of communication with the public and must exhibit a positive attitude. Must be able to handle stressful situations and can multi-task...Must be able to type at least 30wpm and have a High School Diploma or Equivalent – No Felony Convictions.. Prior experience in the emergency dispatching field would be preferable with knowledge of computer aided dispatching.
