On 5/23/2019 at approximately 2:00 am, a Deputy with the Camden County Sheriff's Office, while conducting storm watch patrol in the area of south 7 and V Road, was injured when his patrol vehicle was nearly struck by lightning.  

Deputy Justin Hutzler was traveling south on 7 in the area of V Road when his patrol vehicle was nearly struck by lightning.  The percussion from the strike caused Deputy Hutzer to suffer temporary hearing loss, disorientation and a severe headache.  He was transported to the Lake Regional Hospital where he was later released.

No reported damage to the patrol vehicle.
