Open House at Firing Range

Open House at Firing Range

Over the last three years members of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with a local shooting sports enthusiast group have transformed the department’s firing range from an unkempt and overgrown rock quarry to a comfortable and well laid out facility. There are a number of outbuildings and covered areas for shooters to keep in out of inclement weather and a primitive restroom facility on the property. While we are still making improvements in preparation for the 2018 Can-Am Police-Fire Games, the range is now open to the public on most Sundays and Wednesdays.

To showcase the new and improved range, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and the Camden County Public Range Citizen’s Group will be hosting an open house to allow the public to tour the grounds and see the improvements made over the last several years. The open house will be held on October 18, 2015 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. We will serve hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch and encourage the public to come tour the grounds.

Anyone wishing to purchase a public range card can do so at the sheriff’s office during normal business hours, M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm. The public range cards cost $25.00 each and allow for five separate visits to the range on public range days.

There will be NO SHOOTING at this event.  Any questions concerning public range days or the open house should be directed to the department range master, Sergeant Chris Moehle at 573-3346-2243 ext – 4246.
