Sheriff's Saturation Patrol Results in Vehicle Pursuit and Arrest

Camdenton, MO, 05-10-22 - On Saturday, May 7th, deputies from the Camden County Sheriff's Office conducted a saturation patrol activity in the Climax Springs area of Camden County.

The six-hour operation resulted in five citations, three arrests, and one pursuit where deputies arrested the driver and recovered methamphetamine.

The driver was identified as Kasey W Nelson, 31, of Climax Springs. Deputies attempted to stop Nelson for a licensing violation. Nelson refused to stop his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche and led deputies on a pursuit along several county roads before crashing his vehicle into a creek. After a brief foot chase, deputies took Nelson into custody.

Nelson is charged with the Class D Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance, the Class E Felony of Resisting Arrest, and the Class A Misdemeanor of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Nelson was booked into the Camden County Adult Detention Facility where he is held without bond on these charges and outstanding warrants.

A reminder that these charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
