Man Receives Multiple Charges in Robbery of Linn Creek Business

 

Camdenton, MO, 08-04-22 - At approximately 6:40 Wednesday morning, 08-03-22 Camden County Communications Officers received a 911 call concerning a disturbance at the Y Road General Store in Linn Creek.  According to the caller a man attacked several employees and patrons and then left the area in a white pickup truck.

While en route to the area, another caller, who identified herself as an off-duty nurse, notified 911 that she was being chased on foot down Crystal Springs Road by a man matching the description given of the suspect in the Y Road General Store incident.  The caller also claimed the man kicked her dog while she was trying to help the man after she witnessed him wreck his vehicle.

 

Deputies arrived on scene where the man assaulted one deputy before being taken into custody.  Deputies identified the man as Jeffrey R Walker, 43, of Bonne Terre.  During the investigation, deputies discovered Walker assaulted multiple people inside the business and demanded the clerk surrender the money in the register.  Walker also damaged property inside the business and broke the glass out of the door when he left.  Several witnesses were having their customary morning coffee in front of the store when the incident occurred. 

 

Walker was booked into the Camden County Adult Detention Facility and charged with the Class B Felony of 2nd Degree Robbery, the Class E Felony of 3rd Degree Assault, the Class E Felony of 1st Degree Property Damage, the Class E Felony of 1st Degree Harassment, the Class E Felony of DWI Persistent Offender, the Class A Misdemeanor of Assault 4th Degree on Law Enforcement Officer, the Class A Misdemeanor of 1st Degree Animal Abuse, and  the Class B Misdemeanor of 2nd Degree Property Damage. Walker is being held without bond.

 

A reminder that these charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
