Illinois Man Charged with Sex Crimes Involving Local Minor

Camdenton, MO, 08-23-22 - On Sunday, 08-21-22, Camden County Sheriff's Deputies took a report from a minor child who reported having a sexual encounter with a man in his twenties.

During the investigation, deputies discovered the minor child met the man, later identified as Grant A Keller, 21, of Edwardsville, Illinois, while working a Saturday shift at a local restaurant. Keller was a customer at the restaurant and exchanged contact information with the minor child. Keller later met up with the victim and drove her to the condominium where he was staying for the weekend. While there, Keller and the victim engaged in several sex acts prohibited by Missouri Statute due to her age.

Keller was booked into the Camden County Adult Detention Facility and charged with the two counts of the Class D Felony of 2nd Degree Statutory Sodomy, the Class E Felony of 4th Degree Child Molestation with a Child Less Than 17 Years of Age, and the Unclassified Misdemeanor of Supplying Liquor to a Minor. Keller later posted a $50,000 bond and will appear in Camden County Associate Court in late September.

A reminder that these charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
