01/20/2023

Camdenton, MO, 01-20-23 - Wednesday evening, 01-18-23, a Camden County Sheriff's Deputy on patrol in Stoutland observed a pickup truck matching the description of one recently stolen driving on East State Road H.  The deputy followed the pickup and observed it passing other vehicles on State Road T as it traveled Northbound.  The deputy observed the license plate to match that of the stolen pickup and turned on his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle increased speed.

The deputy pursued the pickup and observed it drive through several fences and farm gates before finally coming to a stop after almost sliding into a pond.  The deputy took the driver into custody and identified him as 22-year-old Tyler C Alford, of Stoutland.  The pickup was returned to its rightful owner after assistance from the owner of the farm to pull it out of the field.

Alford was arrested and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility.  He is charged with the Class D Felony of Tampering With a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree and the Class E Felony of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing.  He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

A reminder that these charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
