Camdenton, MO - 07-25-24 - On Wednesday afternoon, 07-24-24, detectives responded to Old Kinderhook golf course to investigate the death of a previously reported missing person.

Brent L Johnson, 59 years of age, of Springfield was reported missing by family Monday morning. Deputies and detectives responded to Old Kinderhook and began their investigation. Security video footage showed Mr. Johnson leaving the front doors of the hotel late Sunday evening, going to his vehicle for a moment, and then walking away not to be seen on video footage again.

Detectives conducted several interviews of security personnel and coordinated efforts with other area law enforcement agencies during the investigation but were unable to locate Mr. Johnson. On Wednesday afternoon we received a call from another family member with a volunteer search team who found Mr. Johnson's body approximately one half mile from the hotel in a wooded area near the golf course.

 Mr. Johnson's body was transported to Southwest Forensics for autopsy. At this time detectives do not suspect any foul play in Mr. Johnson's death.
