Camdenton, MO - 02-04-26 - Sheriff Chris Edgar confirms the seizure of dangerous drugs and the arrest of several people this month on narcotics charges following multiple investigations by the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force.

On Monday, January 5th, CCSO deputies responded to a residence in the Jefferies Road area of Montreal on reported drug activity. During the investigation deputies and MIDMO task force officers discovered a psilocybin mushroom cultivation operation. Deputies also discovered numerous controlled prescription drugs, many of which were counterfeit. In total, deputies seized approximately one pound of psilocybin mushrooms and 184 prescription pills.

She is being held without bond.

On Wednesday, January 14th, a CCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on Beachwood Drive in Sunrise Beach. During his investigation the deputy located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Further investigation led deputies to a storage unit in Sunrise Beach where they secured the scene and applied for and were granted a search warrant. Deputies and MIDMO task force officers executed a narcotics search warrant at that storage unit and seized 24.5 grams of methamphetamine individually packaged to be sold in our community.

52-year-old Paul N Brotherton, of Sunrise Beach, was arrested and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility where he was charged with the Class C Felony of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and the Class D Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He later posted a $5,000 bond.

On Friday, January 20th, MIDMO drug task force officers intercepted information about a suspected drug trafficker returning to our area after taking delivery of narcotics in Columbia, Missouri. MIDMO coordinated efforts with several other law enforcement agencies and located the suspect in Cole County. Investigators from the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and Cole County Sheriff's deputies intercepted the suspect and took him into custody. They seized approximately one third of a pound of methamphetamine destined for distribution in our community.
