LAKE AREA NARCOTICS ENFORCEMENT GROUP ANNOUNCES QUARTERLY AMOUNTS OF DRUG SEIZURES

The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG) is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force which serves Camden, Crawford, Gasconade, Laclede, Maries, Osage, and Pulaski Counties.  Additionally, the task force serves the cities of Lebanon, Osage Beach, Camdenton, Cuba, Steelville, Bourbon, Conway and Belle.  The task force encompasses seven counties with an approximate population of 200,000 residents.  LANEG employs four (4) Task Force Officers and is coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, who additionally supplies one (1) Trooper to the task force.

LANEG focuses their efforts on drug enforcement by conducting both covert and overt narcotics investigations in the counties and cities they serve.  The task force reported the following amounts of drug seizures as a result of their enforcement efforts in the previous quarter (October 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013).

Methamphetamine -- 6,148.5 grams

Cocaine -- 1 gram

Marijuana -- 230 grams

Synthetics drugs (Synthetic Cannabinoids/Synthetic Cathinones) -- 6 grams

Prescription drugs/pills -- 109 units

During the previous quarter (listed above), LANEG also seized eleven (11) firearms, disassembled nine (9) methamphetamine drug laboratories, served twenty-one (21) search warrants, conducted nineteen (19) consent searches, arresting fifty-nine (59) individuals, totaling ninety-seven (97) separate drug related charges.
