Traffic Stop Results in Childs Birth

During the early morning hours of January 3, 2015, deputies on patrol encountered a motorist traveling at a high rate of speed and running its emergency flashers. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the SUV near Camdenton. When deputies approached the SUV the driver advised that his daughter was in the rear passenger area giving birth to a child. One deputy immediately called for emergency medical assistance, while the other attended to the patient in the SUV.  Upon contact with the female passenger the deputy noticed that the baby had begun to arrive. Assistance with the birth was rendered by one deputy while the other maintained telephone contact with emergency medical services personnel.
