Arrest Made in Assault Investigation

On the evening of August 23rd, Camden County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 33 year old James Dean Turner, of Lake Ozark, for an assault that occurred earlier in the month.

The arrest stemmed from an August 8th incident where Turner assaulted a man in the 100 block of Sweet William Road, Lake Ozark. Witnesses to the assault advised deputies on scene the victim attempted to break up a fight between Turner and his girlfriend. By the time deputies arrived on scene, Turner had left the area. Deputies searched the area and attempted to contact Turner at his girlfriend’s residence, but were unsuccessful. Deputies then spoke with Turner briefly by phone where he provided them with an address to speak to him in person. Turner was not at the address when deputies arrived and avoided further contact with deputies. The victim was severely injured during the assault and was transported to an area hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for treatment.

Deputies arrested Turner without incident earlier this week when they located him on a traffic stop in Osage Beach.

Turner was booked into the Camden County Adult Detention Facility and charged with the Class A Felony of First Degree Assault. Turner was later released on a $30,000 surety bond and will appear in Camden County Associate Court on September 24th.
