On 01/08/15, at approximately 4:30 pm, Camden County deputies responded to a residence on Oxon Run Ct in Sunrise Beach on a reported shooting incident.

 

Deputies on scene determined that an argument between neighbors resulted in 51 year old Gary L Weber, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, firing a round from a .22 rifle into the ground in front of his neighbor. The neighbor, who will not be identified due to privacy concerns, refused medical treatment at the scene for a scratch on his face and on his leg. The victim was unable to explain the injuries, but deputies believe they could have occurred as a result of a ricochet from the bullet impacting the ground.

 

Weber was arrested at the scene and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility where he was charged with the Class C Felony of Assault 2nd Degree, the Class D Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action. Weber posted a $3000.000 cash bond and will appear before the court on February 9th, 2016.
