Oklahoma Man Arrested and Charged in Sexual Assault

06/30/2016

Investigators and patrol deputies with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in a sexual assault case on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 28th.

The arrest followed the investigation started when a fifteen year old girl told her father about an incident involving the suspect, 31 year old Glendale Earle Phares III of Meeker, Oklahoma. On June 24th, the juvenile victim told her father and investigators about seeing Phares outside her window approximately two weeks ago. Later that day the victim went into her room for a nap, when Phares came out of her closet and sexually assaulted her. Phares is known to the victim and her family.

On June 28th, investigators learned of Phares’ whereabouts and about his plans to flee the lake area for Oklahoma. Deputies responded to the 500 block of Ball Park Road in Camdenton where Phares initially attempted to run and ingested an unknown amount of methamphetamines before being taken into custody.

Phares was transported to Lake Regional Hospital and after treatment was transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility. He is being held without bond and is charged with one count of Felony 1st Degree Rape, one Class B Felony of 1st Degree Burglary, and one Class A Misdemeanor of 2nd Degree Child Molestation. Phares will appear before the court on August 2nd.
