UPDATE: Victim and Suspect Identified in Homicide Investigation

31 year old Michael Lamar Hardy Jr, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, has been charged with manslaughter following the death of 31 year old Beau James McCartney, of Versailles, Missouri.

Hardy and McCartney were involved in a physical fight at approximately 3:15 pm on Saturday, July 16th at a residence in the 100 block of Dove Drive, west of Camdenton. During the fight McCartney was rendered unconscious.  Hardy called 911 at approximately 3:19 pm and requested medical personnel respond.  Hardy informed emergency crews McCartney had been inhaling compressed air from a can prior to the fight.  Hardy has been cooperative with detectives during the investigation.

Sheriff Franklin wants residents in the area to know this was an isolated incident and there is no cause for further alarm.

Hardy has been charged with the Class C Felony of 1st Degree Involuntary Manslaughter.  He is being held in the Camden County Adult Detention Facility with a $10,000 cash or $100,000 surety bond.

Arrest in Weekend Homicide

 

On Saturday, 07-16-16, deputies from the Camden County Sheriff's Office responded with medical personnel to a medical call of a person needing medical assistance at a residence in the 100 block of Dove Drive just west of Camdenton.  

Upon arrival deputies discovered an injured and unresponsive male outside of the residence.  Medical personnel performed life saving efforts and transported the male to Lake Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The investigation of the scene indicated the deceased was the victim of a homicide.  

One suspect was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility.  The investigation continues and more information will be forthcoming pending formal charges on the suspect and notification of the next of kin of the deceased.
