Attempted 1st Degree Burglary

02/18/2017

February 18, 2017 – Attempted 1st Degree Burglary – On 2/18/2017 at approximately 9:15 am, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department received a call that a male subject was attempting to gain entrance into a residence on Hackberry Trace, Montreal, Mo., Camden County.  A female occupant was sleeping at the time and was awakened when her dogs began barking.  The occupant found a male subject, with whom she was familiar, looking through a window at the rear of the house.

The occupant of the residence ran from the residence to a neighbor’s house to get help.  The suspect, a 25-year-old white male from Macks Creek, ran from the back of the residence into a heavily wooded area behind the residence.

At approximately 10:07 am, the suspect was apprehended hiding in a creek bed between Hackberry Trace and the 2500 block of State Road A by County Deputies.

We would like to thank Linn Creek Police Officers for their assistance.

Further information will be released after the suspect is formally charged.
