On August 14, 2018, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Cole County Sheriff’s Office that a male subject had made an emergency landing on August 13, 2018, in a field in Cole County.  At the time, he had identified himself to authorities as Scott Star a resident of Camden County, Mo.

Upon further investigation, Cole County Detectives were advised that Star’s real name is Graham S. McGill, a federal fugitive who had been on the run for over eight years.  McGill’s pilot’s license had been suspended by the FAA.  McGill was wanted by the U.S. District Court for Conspiracy to Cultivate and Manufacture Marijuana.

In a joint investigation with the Lake Area Narcotics Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration, Internal Revenue Service, Cole County Sheriff’s Office as well as other agencies, multiple search warrants were issued on various homes, properties, and multiple air planes, that McGill had purchased in the area.

Currently McGill is being held without bond and has been transferred to another jail facility.  This investigation is on-going.
